Willows

If you ever find yourself wandering around Perth and craving a cozy spot to refuel, Willows is the place that’ll make you want to linger longer than you planned. Tucked neatly on South St John's Place, this gem combines comfort, charm, and seriously good food that hits the spot whether you're in for a quick bite or an unhurried lunch with friends.

What immediately stands out about Willows is its inviting atmosphere-spacious enough to feel open, but intimate enough to feel like your local favorite. Whether you're on your laptop powering through a few emails or catching up with an old mate over tea, the vibe here is effortlessly laid-back. It’s got that comforting hum of a popular brunch place, complete with the aroma of fresh ground coffee and sizzling breakfast dishes floating through the air.

Speaking of breakfast, let’s get into the food. Their Eggs Benedict is a classic done right-runny yolks, velvety hollandaise, and just the right toast on the muffin. If you're after something heartier, the English Breakfast is a total crowd-pleaser, loaded but not greasy. For the little ones, options like Junior Beans & Sausages or Kids Fish and Chips are perfect-not too fussy, just comforting and kid-approved.

Now, if lunch is more your thing, prepare for a tough decision. The Sweet Chilli Chicken Toasted Panini brings the perfect mix of heat and crunch, and the Haggis Burger is a local twist that adventurous palates should definitely try. The Macaroni and Cheese offers creamy, carby comfort, and for something lighter, the Baked Potato with Salmon and Salad Dressing balances indulgence and health beautifully.

And let’s not forget Willows’ dessert game-it's strong. The Brownie is rich and fudgy with just the right crackly top, while the Carrot Cake is moist with a dreamy cream cheese frosting. Prefer something with a local feel? The Fruit Scone with clotted cream and jam is simply unbeatable. If you’re into more delicate sweets, their Meringue is a featherlight treat that pairs perfectly with a hot Flat White or a creamy Matcha Latte.

One of Willows' biggest plus points is the beverage list. From expertly pulled coffees to chilled cocktails and even a tidy selection of beers, wines, and spirits, there's something for everyone. The tea selection is another highlight-ideal if you’re in the mood to sip slowly and people-watch from one of the outdoor tables.

Accessibility is clearly a priority here, too. The entrance, seating, and even the toilet facilities are all wheelchair-accessible, ensuring a welcoming space for all diners. Whether you dine in, grab a takeaway, or have your favorites delivered to your door, the service is consistently efficient and friendly.

But what really sets Willows apart is its flexibility. It’s just as suited for solo dining sessions as it is for group meetups. It’s that rare place where you can sip a latte while typing away on your laptop, then transition seamlessly into a leisurely lunch with friends without skipping a beat. Plus, if you're the type who appreciates thoughtful extras-like free water refills, healthy options, and vegan and vegetarian-friendly dishes-Willows ticks those boxes too.

From sunlit morning coffees to relaxed evening bites, Willows somehow manages to be whatever you need it to be that day.

Visited with a friend for breakfast, plenty of tables to choose from and staff directed us to sit where we wanted. A few tables were not cleaned and tidied from previous customers so just something to bear in mind for staff to tidy. We ordered our drinks and breakfast and all came quickly. A nice breakfast and I would visit again.

The place is buzzing with energy and full of people. All tables are full. It is a good sign. Everything came pretty fast and well served. There are lots of serving staff and they are very efficient. The desserts are of a very good quality. Specifically, the flavour of the Brownie is very well accomplished. What I wonder is if the burger is bought or homemade. I think it’s the second. There’s nothing wrong with it because it was good quality but if they made them themselves the taste would highly improve

Lovely outdoor as well as indoor settings with attentive wait staff on-the-go at the entrance, ready to serve customers. We ordered a breakfast platter and an eggs Benedict together with a large Bailey's latte. The black pudding is particularly tasty and well seasoned because I havd had pudding that was way too salty to my liking before. We also surprised to find out that Willows is also selling some popular pastries (coffee tower, yum yum etc) from the famous Fisher & Donaldson. Overall great breakfast experience and is definitely worth a visit!

Popped in for light lunch, our order was taken quickly but we waited and waited for our drinks. They food arrived and still no drinks so we reminded the waitress and they came about 5 minutes later when we were almost finished. Great food let down by poor service

We went for afternoon tea here at 3:30pm and managed to finish it all after 4:30pm. Go hungry as there is a plate of sandwiches, a plate of cheese, pickle, oatcakes, with sausage rolls, mini quiches and then three plates of cakes and treats with tea or coffee. Even had a refill of coffee as it helped to wash it all down. We went with a voucher and had glasses of Prosecco too. The food was great and the service too. Enjoyed it all. You can book up to 4pm but not sure you could get it all eaten before closing time. They do offer takeaway boxes for leftovers. Take it with you if you can. Lots of tables inside and extra outside if it is warm.
